The high demand for energy globally combined with the urgent need to control climatic change has stimulated much research into renewable sources of energy for use in homes. A hybrid energy system incorporating photovoltaics and wind power turbines offers a new approach to fulfilling all the energy requirements of the household in a rather sustainable way. This research contributes to the design, integration, and optimization of a hybrid PV-wind energy system designed for residential use. The interfacing of solar and wind energy sources will be analyzed to overcome the inherent limitations in individual sources such as the dependence of solar energy on daylight and variability of wind energy. Therefore, the hybrid system relies on the complementary nature of such renewable sources for reliable and efficient provision of energy in diverse conditions. This work assesses the economic and environmental benefits, the system performance under conditions that would likely occur, and possible barriers to adoption. It provides an integrated framework that outlines the design of cost-effective, scalable, and environmentally friendly energy solutions at residential levels while showing hybrid systems as a feasible pathway toward achieving energy sustainability and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
